All restrictions in Israel were removed throughout the spring of 2021, later reintroducing face mask requirements. The pandemic occurred during the 2019–2022 Israeli political crisis and had a significant political impact. On 12 April, Haredi neighborhoods in Jerusalem were placed under closure. Coinciding with the Passover Seder on the night of 8 April, lawmakers ordered a 3-day travel ban and mandated that Israelis stay within 100 m (330 ft) of their home on the night of the Seder. As coronavirus diagnoses spiked in the city of Bnei Brak, reaching nearly 1,000 infected people at the beginning of April, the cabinet voted to declare the city a "restricted zone", limiting entry and exit for a period of one week. Restrictions on movement were further tightened on 25 March and 1 April, with everyone instructed to cover their noses and mouths outdoors. Essential services-including food stores, pharmacies, and banks-would remain open. Israelis were not allowed to leave their homes unless absolutely necessary. On 19 March, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a national state of emergency, saying that existing restrictions would henceforth be legally enforceable, and violators would be fined. Gatherings were first restricted to no more than 100 people, and on 15 March this figure was lowered to 10 people, with attendees advised to keep a distance of 2 m (6 ft 7 in) between one another. īeginning on 11 March 2020, Israel began enforcing social distancing and other rules to limit the spread of infection. As a result, a 14-day home isolation rule was instituted for anyone who had visited South Korea or Japan, and a ban was placed on non-residents and non-citizens who were in South Korea for 14 days before their arrival. While e-tunes are effective with competent parties on both ends of the computer, It is dyno tuning with verification on the street that makes for a near perfect tune. I came across this post and it hit pretty close to home. New to the community, so I have been browsing the site for most of my evening. I believe it came down to being safe, and having a controlled environment I.e. I am not a tunner therefore I am not saying you are wrong we should be here to learn from you perhaps. I am still not convinced you can load the car as accurate as if we were on the street. All aspects of the car driving are checked and tested.Ĭhris, Sounds like your experience has allowed you to really get things dialed in on the dyno.I also like the fact you have checks and balances in place to ensure the car is perfect. While I'm sure it's rare I imagine sometimes tweeks are needed that can get missed on the dyno.Ĭhris when my Evo IX was being tuned by Jestr we always did street. I should add that this is really a moot point, since we take every alpha build we do on the street afterwards no matter what and have a vigorous test drive procedure by someone other than me so they can see if there is anything that has been missed. Mine will drive better, make more power and last longer. I will put my dyno tune against a street tune any day of the week. They don't do sufficient testing on the dyno and typically only run the car in 1 gear, don't do the necessary drivability tasks and forget other important things besides just making a power number. It is much easier for an inexperienced tuner to do a car on the street because they don't know the difference between how it is loaded on the dyno and loaded on the street. I can empathize with what you guys are saying for sure. Most of the time this is not an issue, although the language barrier with some can be quite cumbersome. If there is not good information for me to use, then the tune will definitely suffer. At the end of the day it also comes down to the quality of the datalogs that are being provided to me as well. ECUTeK will soon be added to the repertoire when v3 hits, (I've had the hardware for years now and have been tracking its growth) and I anticipate doing e-tuing with that as well. I'm almost at the point where Syvecs might be possible via email now (again for well known setups) that I've done enough cars. Personally I am comfortable tuning any setup that you can conjure on a GTR via email if the person I am working with is comfortable with doing the data-logging. If possible I urge the possibility of doing a few dyno runs and datalogs in short succession so that we can get 100% from the car. Especially those which have upgraded camshafts and turbokits. A dyno is great tool, and can tell you alot about a higher horsepower car. I tell people that they will get about 90% of the power AND drivability that they would if I was there in person. The odd-ball turbo kit that I don't normally work with is slightly challenging, but also do-able. The same goes for almost every bolt-on stock turbo configuration available, and most bolt on turbo configurations available with 3.8 and 4.0 motors. Having a STRONG base calibration for an e-tune is important if you want to keep the data-logging time to a minimum. For instance, if it from the AMS product line I have a good tune for almost any combination of parts all the way up to alpha 12. I mostly see etunes as a method of cutting cost.įor very common setups e-tunes are not a bad thing. I think the best results will be seen from dyno tune + street tune in person. I will say this: My impression is WOW what a difference! My Ass dyno tells me and the overall drivability of the car is 100% better! Only negative part is the damn smoke.ĭyno Tune Only- Like you said really can't dial in the enitre car driving experience. Max psi-17 and it doesn't fall very much at all. (he just wasn't happy with how it felt) After the last stop he said it was perfect and I was good to go. I was holding his lap top as he would drive and accelerate at different intervals, We stopped at least 5 times so he could make adjustments. I never got a chance to drive it directly off the dyno as me and Doug took off in the car for some fine tuning. My tune seemed to spike at 21psi then rapidly drop to about 15.Ībout 2 months later I sent TSM my car for some additional Bolt on stuff and a dyno tune. It felt very good at the time compared to completely stock. We data logged and sent files back and forth about 6 times,Īnd settled on a tune everybody thought would be safe. from TSM E-tune my car after Cobb, injector, and exhaust upgrades. A bit lower along the rear panel there are two pins for the optional standing charging case. Next to it sits the star of the show, the thermal camera (the large central circular thingie) and the infrared camera with the IR LED hidden underneath the plastic cover. Surrounding it, there’s the 2-megapixel Macro camera along with the air pressure balance hole, the 108-megapixel main shooter and the flash LED. The good news is that the speaker grille is made of metal (while it was plastic on the Glory Pro). It just never gets the chance to show its true potential. Two, because the speaker gets muffled when the AGM G2 Guardian sits on its back and, when on its front, it’s very loud, but not always very clear (it depends on the room layout). One, you never get to put the smartphone flush on the desk. AGM G2 Guardian – the speaker and the cameras. In a market where no smartphone stands out anymore, I won’t judge AGM’s pursue on trying something new, but I still consider the idea to maintain that speaker in the middle and still pointing outwards a bit uninspired. But you will still have to account for the large circular part that covers the top half of the smartphone. It seems that the wireless charging is still there (10W) and I think it’s a bit better placed than on the Glory Pro, which had that area slightly depressed. Then again, I would like to see a bullet-proof smartphone sometimes in the future. The frame and the rear panel are solidly made and there is no chance you’re going to bend this device, and for a moment, I thought that the rear may be Kevlar, but it’s just a similar pattern. I guess this is both impressive and a negative aspect of the phone, but then again, the AGM G2 Guardian wants to sit more in a tool box or travel bag than in your pocket. If you’re going to put it in your pocket, make sure that you have a solid belt since it’s going to try and pull your trousers down. The rugged smartphone also weighs 0.9lbs (405g) which makes it heavier than the Glory Pro and one of the heaviest smartphones I have ever put my hands on. And yes, the AGM G2 Guardian is unapologetically rugged, sporting a large case that measures 7.0 x 3.3 x 1.0 inches (17.7 x 8.5 x 2.5cm), so it’s actually thicker and taller than the Glory Pro. Those that want to use their phone to hammer nails. I noticed that some manufacturers have taken important steps towards ensuring that their rugged smartphones don’t really stand out when put next to the regular phones (such as the newest CAT), but AGM targets a different category of people. How accurate is the fingerprint sensor?. Furthermore, the rugged smartphone is equipped with a 7,000mAh battery, it supports 5G and it seems that it will also connect to WiFi 6/6E networks, so let’s put it to the test and see if it can be considered the best rugged smartphone to date. Since CAT moved to a 120Hz display panel, AGM also added a 120Hz panel to the G2 Guardian, so it’s much smoother than on previous models. So, expect the large circular speaker embedded on the rear panel which can be very loud, up to 109dB, and, besides the thermal camera, there are four other cameras, including infrared night vision and a macro shooter. Also, let’s not forget that the AGM G2 Guardian is indeed a rugged smartphone and the manufacturer made sure to keep the signature look of the previous models. It could also work in an industrial setting, where it’s difficult to see through dust or fog – and machines do generate a lot of heat. And it’s definitely a step up from the previous flagship, the Glory Pro, but who actually needs a thermal monocular camera? I am sure that not only hunters, but some hikers and overall, people that like to go on outdoor adventures would benefit from a thermal monocular camera. Furthermore, the camera will allow you to see the heat signature of people or animals (for hunting purposes) and it seems that the AGM G2 Guardian can indeed detect them from up to 0.3 miles which is quite impressive, especially for a smartphone. Toon Boom has a more traditional workflow approach, so anyone familiar with traditional animation practices will be happy to see X-sheets and model sheets for lip. I think that if you have a fair amount of prior animation experience and can afford the high cost of the software, Toon Boom Harmony is definitely worth buying! If you want to buy it, you can find the manufacturer's website by searching on the name of the software. One last con is that this software can cost from $180 to $876 a year, depending on how advanced the model is. In addition, if you have not animated on too many other programs, you may have a hard time understanding the controls. Glitches occur if your computer software is not updated enough, and if your file's name has spaces in it, it can also glitch out a bit. You can have them look like a pencil, chalk, square, or pen! There are so many amazing other features in this program that I couldn't even BEGIN to cover!ĭue to its many features, Toon Boom is also a very complicated program. After just watching a tutorial like the one below, almost every other tool, so long as you have some animation experience, comes naturally to use! You also have many options when it comes to making your brush lines look different. All you need to do is animate a cycle once, and then apply a tool to it that will make the animated figure appear to move across the screen! Another nice feature is how easy the software is to learn. Toon Boom has a LOT of complicated, amazing features!! One example is a tool allowing you to be able to animate something across a screen without needing to animate the cycle over and over again. It is also a software that I use frequently. Toon Boom Harmony is a popular animating software that many professional animators use in films and animated series. I also did not mark the images with colours etc as much as I did previously, simply because recoznizing these should already be piece of cake if you want this article to be anyhow useful for you. Therefore I strongly recommend to read ABR04: Overflows and ABR08: Overflows II before reading this one. I will of course not repeat many things, especially roles of each component in overflow stations. The new most notable features I will present is the combo-signalled reverser and techniques of high throughput overflow stations. The article is not sorted chronologically, I am just going to describe a few concepts of designs, and sort them by complexity or just by how I think it is practical to build such an overflow. Also you will be able to read about some less overflow related things, but vital for general building. It is easy for the junction to end up in a state where every train switches track, reducing the throughput to the level of single track.Let me introduce you to the third part of the Overflow series of ABR, in this article I aim to note the most interesting innovations to overflow construction which are not described in the previous articles. Simple "X" style crossovers are a bad idea. Note the use of consistent signal gaps even on the parallel track. The increased throughput comes at the cost of a larger footprint and higher complexity. This design offers higher throughput than the chained flip-flap, and minimises unnecessary track switches. See Double Track Junctions for more about this design. This simple design allows trains to switch tracks without having too much of a throughput penalty compared to fully independent tracks. When trains need to switch between two (or more) tracks in the same direction, there are two useful designs. These are discussed in Is It Worth Building KERS Stations and Thanks, I Hate It! Switching Tracks There are some alternative station designs based around KERS principles which offer slight throughput advantages (especially with JGRPP's realistic braking option). The design is also easy to expand to any number of platforms. You may also consider building this for slower trains as while it does not have a throughput advantage, it can hold more waiting trains. This also increases as it is expanded, as shown in Maglev Station Design. This station offers similar throughput to the Compact Semi-Balanced RoRo for rail vehicles, but for faster maglev trains has up to 15% greater throughput in its default 4-platform configuration. Note the positioning of the exit signals - this configuration offers a slight throughput boost having the outer signals closer to the merge. This is close to maximum saturation of single track railway (without the use of advanced clocked releases or merges). This station can typically handle a throughput of 1900 tons/month using 4-5 tile SH25 hauled trains. Compact PBS TerminusĪdding more platforms typically does not reliably increase the throughput by a significant amount, although it will allow more trains to be stored when industry production is variable. This station can typically handle a throughput of 1500 tons/month using 4-5 tile SH25 hauled trains. I call the following designs "best" as I consider them an ideal balance between high throughput, small footprint and simplicity of construction.Īll station designs operate correctly when using one-way path signals, meaning no need to switch between signal types when building or create signals trains will pass from the back. Most of the relevant science is in Can You Put A Signal After A Junction? StationsĬompact designs with short signal gaps tend to have the highest throughput. There is no need to leave gaps after a junction, or in front of a station - most of the time this will harm throughput with no other benefit. In almost all situations, keeping a consistent signal gap is the most important concern. This does not increase CPU usage over other types of signal - "path signals use more CPU" is a myth! The most important rule of signalling for high throughput is to keep a consistent signal gap. Signallingįor most networks, it is fine to use path signals throughout. So I've collected a little summary of things we've discovered. And while it's fun testing theories, scrolling through videos trying to find designs gets old fast. There's quite a bit of OpenTTD Science and as is the nature of such things, later videos will often improve upon designs featured in earlier ones. We shared a caramel crumble cake slice for dessert. Mueller said the research isn't about stopping or even delaying death. According to, a website of the Wellcome Genome Campus, 75 percent of disease-causing genes in humans are also present in fruit flies. Using that knowledge, researchers could look at the human genome for similar genetic markers humans are genetically similar to fruit flies, Mueller noted. "Once you create populations that are genetically different in that way, you can ask, 'What genes were changed in order to reduce the length of the death spiral?'" Mueller said. Humans are challenging study subjects for both ethical and biological reasons, but looking at the death spiral in other organisms could give scientists a window into how this works in humans, the researchers said.Īccording to Mueller, the next step in this research might be to selectively breed the flies to create groups that experience death spirals of different durations. The assessments included measures of grip strength, ability to complete daily activities (such as using the toilet and eating) and exams that helped evaluate cognitive impairment.īasically, Mueller said, a death spiral in people could be the reason we often see a distinct increase in disability just before a person dies. They found that the physical and cognitive scores of individuals who died within the first two years of the study were significantly lower than the scores of those who were still alive in 2005. In that study, researchers analyzed data collected on the physical and cognitive abilities of 2,262 Danish people, ages 92 to 100, from 1998 to 2005. In their review paper, Mueller and his colleagues cited a study from 2008 published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciencesas evidence that people may experience the death spiral as well. The hope is that death-spiral research in fruit flies and other organisms could someday tell scientists more about the decline of humans prior to death. The research, published online March 22 in the journal Scientific Reports, concluded that this intestinal leakiness was a marker of death in all three species. If permeability increased, that dye would leak out into the animal's body, and its body would change color - blue in the flies and fish, and fluorescent green in the nematodes. The researchers tested this leakiness, called permeability, by feeding food dye to each animal. In another study, scientists observed fruit flies, nematodes and zebrafish, to see if their intestines exhibited increased leakiness before death.
